Let’s face it – business large and small have a problem standing out in our modern competitive landscape.
Products and services are largely undifferentiated to buyers, and trust is at rock bottom, especially for unfamiliar brands.
These days, people want to learn before they buy, be educated instead of pitched. ~ Brian Clark, founder of Copyblogger Media
If they’re looking for a product or service, there’s a good chance they’re looking to buy it.
In other words, searchers are the most motivated people who hit a website. This is important!
In that sense, smart content optimization is more important than ever.
With that said, I introduce Scribe SEO plugin by Copyblogger Media, that delivers the exact content marketing process that helped me increase blog traffic by 440% in the past 6 months.
How Scribe works?
Scribe is a plugin that was designed to analyze your posts, give you information about them, and make suggestions about improving your post from an SEO perspective.
If you’re using WordPress like me, the plugin interfaces without a hitch.
In line with the online marketing trinity of content, social and search, Scribe makes content marketing effective and efficient with three essential actionable functions: Research, Optimize and Connect.
Scribe shows you the language the audience prefers when searching and discussing on social networks, before you begin to create content.
After you insert your keyword the plugin gives you insight informations about popularity and competition and also reveals other profitable topics and keyword phrases based on what your audience wants.
For this write-up I used my recent post and I entered keyword „advantages of internet“. Below is what Scribe showed as keyword research.
Once you’ve finished writing your post, the plugin checks to make sure you’ve written an optimized version of your title in the custom title field.
Once everything is set you’ll see three green arrows like in the screen shot above and the analyze button will “turn on.” Hit the button and the process will start.
Scribe also analyzes your overall site content to help you execute on your go-forward content strategy, which has become vital since the Google Panda update.
Scribe helps you crosslink your content to increase usability, time on site, and indexing, identify relevant websites for guest content, strategic alliances, and link building, recruit authoritative industry writers, and locate social media users who’ll want to share your content.
What Scribe has been doing for my blog traffic over the past 6 month
See the graph above? This is a screen capture of my blog traffic over the past 12 months, as seen through Google Analytics.
What stands out to me is the increase in traffic starting in April, 2012 – which coincides with my subscription with the Scribe.
Now you want to some insight into the numbers, eh?
Between October 27th, 2011 thru March 31st, 2012 I got 1374 unique visitors. It means my blog was nowhere with organic search arround 35%.
Then I began to take things seriously and I subscribed for Scribe on April 1st, 2012. Over the past 6 months, between April 1st, 2012 and October 27th, 2012 – I got 7427 unique visitors and now organic search is 56%.
That’s a 440% increase in blog traffic!
Why do you need to use your brain a little
Just because a computer program tells you to do something doesn’t mean you should turn off your brain and blindly do it – use some common sense.
Remember that just because Google and your GPS tell you to go a certain way doesn’t always mean it’s the right way to go.
You don’t need to strive to get a 100% on every post. Technically your posts might be better but honestly I don’t think they’d be as valuable or have as much personality.
Having an article that is 100% optimized but is boring is never as good as a slightly less optimized article that’s interesting to read.
How Scribe can help you?
I knew that Scribe would help me with keyword research and optimizing my content. And apparently it’s helping a number of other folks as well.
If you use writers with varying degrees of SEO expertise, this tool will absolutely help you bring everything up to par.
